On Sunday 25th September, Jake and Nathan were presented with their Queen's Badges by Saffron Walden Town Mayor, Cllr Sarfraz Anjum. The presentation took place at Saffron Walden Baptist Church, during a busy Harvest Parade service.
Nathan and Jake have worked hard on their Queen's badges for over two years. They attended two leadership course, the final one of which was a residential course at BB HQ in Hemel Hempsted, Felden Lodge.
Jake helped at VBS and X-Cite as part of his service work, while Nathan undertook practical and maintenance work at SWBC, and volunteered at Maisy Day's farm.
For their interests section, Jake continued his work with St Mary's choir, while Nathan developed his karate skills. Both young men undertook the expeditions section of the award and passed with flying colours.
We are disappointed Nathan and Jake have come to the end of their BB careers, but delighted they've gone out 'on a high' with this achievement. Well done to both of them, from everyone at 1st Saffron Walden BB and Baptist Church.
The Queens' Badge is the highest award that can be gained in the BB. It is several years since we have awarded one at 1st Saffron Walden.
