Seniors are aged between fifteen and eighteen years old and wear a uniform of black trousers and shoes, royal blue polo shirt and navy blue sweatshirt.  We maintain a programme of activities that is relevant to their age; they are now young men rather than boys!  At Saffron Walden our Seniors meet at the same time as the Company Section, but there are seperated for most of the evening, engaging in different activities to the Company.  They also have the option of staying on later, until 10pm.

Seniors are awarded the Challenge Plus award for taking part in the wide range of activities we provide.  They also have the opportunity to gain the Queens Badge, the highest badge in the BB.  This requires a similar level of comittment to the Duke of Edinburgh's silver award, and includes elements of volunteering both within and outside of the BB, as well as physical and training aspects.

More than any other section, we try to meet the specific needs of individuals when we plan our programme, and consult fequently with the lads to ensure we're offering something relevant and engaging.

In the last year or so, we have been to see a show in the West End ("The Woman in Black"), had a music night, a curry night, and had a discussion evening on the Crisis in Syria.  In the recent past we have also had first aid training and expeditions training, and a talk on sexual health by a professional sexual health nurse, Rachael Duthie.

Last year (Spring 2016) we ran an 'Alpha' course to explain the key elements of the Christian Faith.  We were supported in this by our Minister Rev John Goddard.

Our seniors joined us on our most recent summer camp in North Norfolk (2015), and enjoyed karting, high ropes and archery at Hilltop Outdoor Centre, games and swimming on the beach, a day trip to Norwich and much more.

We encourage our Seniors in leadership roles, and help them to plan and implement activities for the Company Section.  This can range from planning a quiz or leading games, to running our tuck shop.

There is some further information on Seniors on our BB National Website.
